Thomas Blackshear pays homage to an unaccustomed western image, the Black cowboy. Rising out of the ash of one of Americas darkest days, these wranglers played a pivotal role in the continuing success of Americas western expansion during and following the Civil War. With a job that was never done, the tenacious cowboy always contemplates, Well, whats next?
