Rube and the Giants - CANVAS
From the New York Times Best-Selling book, "WE ARE THE SHIP: The Story of Negro League Baseball," by Kadir Nelson, Rube Foster (fourth from right), founder of the Negro National League and owner of the Chicago American Giants, "ran his team like it was a major league club." Foster is shown here, circa 1920, calling his team together while scribbling instructions to be administered to his players. The team, having traveled first class in a plush and comfortable rented Pullman train car (most teams traveled by bus or passenger car), has just arrived in town to play a local team. They are greeted by curious local children as they disembark from the car. Pictured are: Christobal Torriente (second from right), Bingo DeMoss (seventh from right in brown suit), and Dave Malarcher (walking down steps).
Rube and the Giants CANVAS by Kadir Nelson is a Limited Edition production signed by the Artist. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which affirms that this is an authentic Limited Edition production from |
