notes*: Maxine In this painting I envisioned a petite girl playing a huge guitar and commanding the crowd gathered at a coffee shop. I was experimenting with the colors in this image by using vibrant, warm colors for Maxine against a blue background. From the basic idea of what is in the painting to the appearance and the figure of the girl, Maxine is a direct influence and inspiration of my wife. She even suggested the title of the piece which is based on a song we both enjoy.
